Running School starts Monday 19th March

Feel like this about running

Learn how to run efficiently and safeguard against the development of injuries with our one week, (1hr Mon-Fri) school.

Whether you are a total beginner or someone looking to improve these schools have been carefully designed to help analyse your running style and help you to build up and strengthen your foundations.

Our last batch of running school members started off as beginners (not able to run 5k). They graduated, joined our running club and three to four months later crossed the line of the Brighton Half Marathon.

Whatever your level, expect to graduate having learned a whole range of new skills and transformed the way you think about running. And feel ready to take on any challenge!

This school will be taught by the founder of Fitbitch, Rachael Woolston, who is also a yoga for runners teacher with a strong background in biomechanics.

Spaces available in both 6am and 7am schools at Hove for both men and women.. Price, £65. Book with a friend before Tuesday 13th March 6pm and one of you will be half price.

Running technique: an evening with Barefoot Ted

Running bare with Barefoot TEd

We’re very exciting about our forthcoming workshop with barefoot ultra runner, Barefoot Ted on Monday 23rd at Nick Rivett Sport, on Church Road.
Due to unprecedented demand, the event is now full although thatdoesn’t mean you have to miss out completely.
After a talk by Barefoot Ted, we will be heading outside for a technique workshop at 19.15pm. Everyone is welcome to join us for this if you meet outside the shop at this time. If you miss us, head down to the seafront and we will be on the Lawns.
For those of you lucky to have received confirmation of your space, the full event runs 18.30pm-20.30pm. Please arrive on time and be prepared to do some running – barefoot of course (or in Vibrams if you have them).
After the workshop, you can head back to the shop (where you will be able to leave valuables) where you will be able to pick up an exclusive goodie bag with special offers.
This event has proved very popular and there are people on the waiting list. If you can no longer attend the event then please email us so we can let someone else take your space.
If you have been unable to make this event, do subscribe to our website as we have a series of one-off workshops running throughout the year, some of which will be open to both men and women.

Running technique with Barefoot Ted

An event not to be missed

The FitBitch Running Club, are delighted to announce a seminar with the world-renowned barefoot runner, Barefoot Ted on Monday 23rd May at 6.30pm -8.30pm.
Made famous in Chris McDougall’s best seller, Born to Run, Barefoot Ted has spent the last seven years mastering barefoot long distance running. Why run barefoot, you may wonder?
According to many experts, traditional running trainers. with lots of cushioning and support could actually be doing more harm than good by weakening muscles and affecting the way the body would naturally move. Switch to barefoot running (or shoes such as Vibram Five Fingers, which add some protection) and you’ll avoid injury and become a stronger more efficient runner.
Whatever your thoughts on this (or indeed if you have only just started running and would like to stick to your trainers thank you very much!) this is a must-have seminar for all runners.
I attended a specialist primal lifestyle camp with Ted over two years ago and what I learned has helped make me a better and more efficient runner even though I do still run in trainers.
Find out from the man himself all about barefoot running, the amazing new discoveries it brings and how to get the best out of you and your body with this part seminar/part technique workshop.
The event is free on subscription to the running club site. Please also send us an email fbfitness@aim.com to confirm your place.
Please be aware, numbers are limited so book soon to avoid disappointment.
