Our Brighton Marathon crew
As I write this, it’s exactly 9am on Sunday 15th April, just as our marathon runners, who have been training since November 2011 prepare to cross the start line of the Brighton Marathon, 2012.
Before you think they must all be seasoned runners, think again. For every one of our runners it is their first ever marathon. They are mums, girls about town, just like you.
Whatever distance you would like to train for, be it 5k, a marthon or even an ultramarathon, we can you help you.
Our next training packages start April 30th, although Wednesday sessions at 7.30pm can be dropped in on whenever you like and are suitable for ALL levels.
Upcoming races we will be doing training packages for include beginners to 10k, half marathon and a full marathon in Lake Garda. Come join us!
We are now up to 17 miles in our training and once again this Sundays course is a mix of views, hills, coast and even a vineyard (not that we will be stopping for a glass of wine!)
The course is starting with our other training groups, who are running up to the first 12 miles. We will then head in a different direction, covering the section of the course that turns at Rottingdean, heading towards Roedean before going back inland to our starting point.
As with other weeks, we welcome any new Female runners to our group. If you are a lone runner and finding the need for company on these long runs, then this is your answer. As long as you have covered up to 15 miles in your current training. We have runners training for the either the Brighton and London marathon.
Make sure you have prepared yourself adequately with fuel and hydration. Any questions please call Kate on the number below.
The route is mapped for those who have paid for the plan or are subscribed to our running club.
Location: Rottingdean, Tesco Metro car park (free before 9am, and then fairly cheap)
Coach: Kate 07702983744
So, you’ve waited until January to start your training for the Brighton marathon and you are now panicking?
Or perhaps you’ve been injured and are are trying to get back on track and are worried about how far you have fallen behind on your training.
Well, there is no need to worry because our marathon rescue package will get you back on track. It includes a 30min free telephone consultation with our dedicated marathon coach, Kate Boys (who has run numerous marathons including New York and Brighton) a training plan, and twice weekly training sessions (Wednesday at 7.30pm and Sunday, 8.30am).
You should be able to run 10k comfortably but if you don’t fit this criteria, we can offer you personalised training sessions (open to men and women) to get you back on top of things.
The marathon training package costs £110 for both training sessions, or £55 if only doing one session per week. To book email email@example.com or for further details, call Kate on 07702 983744.
