The Grid - appropriate name for those who've used it!

When you first start running, you think that all you need to run is a pair of trainers and a bit of motivation. Which is true but if you start running regularly, there is one other piece of kit that is absolutely vital. A foam roller.
These are cylindrical pieces of hard foam which you roll on to massage your muscles. This helps to release the myofascia, lengthen muscles and increase blood flow and circulation to the soft tissues.
Think this doesn’t really apply to you? The biggest complaint of any runner, experienced and beginner alike, is knee pain when running which often takes people out of running for months on end.
Yet the cause is simply an overtight illiotibial band
