Wed 6th July. Time Trial with Strength and Conditioning.

Time trials are not a race but a motivating way to measure your current performance. We will be running a mile at our fastest, individual pace then using that time as a benchmark for future Time Trial sessions.
If you are about to embark on a training programme this is perfect for you. Tracking your improvement can give you a real boost thus encourage you to keep up all your hard work.
If you are new to running taking part in a Time Trial gives you an excellent opportunity to see how your fitness level can increase over a period of time and how rewarding it can be.
The session will also include strength and conditioning work. Not just on our lower bodies but also the core and upper body. Core muscles are fundamental in stabilising us and the arms play their role too. Try running with your arms by your side! Strong arms will help us gain power when running. This part of the session will be mainly compound exercises, using a variety of muscle groups. If you have a resistance band please bring it but do not worry if not as there are plenty of spares. We will also include some kettlebell exercises so if they are new to you, you’ll get to experience the benefits of working out with a so-called Fitbitch handbag!
