Whether you’re training for a 5k or half marathon, chances are you want to run it faster. Maybe your training has hit a plateau from plodding along at the same speed and distance week after week?
Repeatedly running the same pace trains your body to run efficiently at that speed and distance. But if you want to run faster, you need to train faster. Push your body beyond that comfort zone and reap the rewards with better race times and the enjoyment of feeling yourself speeding along.
This training session will be especially beneficial to those taking part in the Palma Half marathon in October because it is designed to simulate the course conditions (except the weather!). But if you’re a beginner new to running this session also works to help build up your distance as you get to run, rest, run, rest.
Whatever your level is – looking just to be able to run longer than five minutes, or to get faster, everyone is welcome .
If you attended the heart rate training session, come with your heart rate monitor and percentage heart rate calculations. We will be working at intervals of 75-80% max heart rate. Don’t worry if you don’t know what this is. We have other ways of gauging how hard your body is working so you’ll guaranteed to get a great workout!
