Running Biomechanics, stretch & strength, Wednesday 7th 7.30pm

Single leg TRX lunge for running strength

Many people think running – or improving as a runner, is all about putting in the miles or speeding up time. Of course this is vital but just as important is focus on improving your biomechanics.
In a nutshell, this is how external and internal (such as your muscles, joints etc) act on your body and how this affects the way your body moves. If you have weak gluteal muscles for instance (the muscles in your bottom) this can adversely affect your running pattern.
This session is a must for all runners and is a good introduction back to running if you’ve spent a few more days off this summer than you meant to. It will focus on exercises to strengthen those areas which many female runners, beginners and experienced are weak in.
We will finish with a yoga for runner’s session, weather permitting.
