Beginners session – zero to 8k blast off – Wednesday 15th August

Learn the running basics

Don’t miss out on our beginner’s session this Wednesday where we’ll be teaching you all about the foundations of running (well as much as we can in an hour).

The session will start with a look at your biomechanics (how you run – there’s a bit more to it than putting one foot in front of the other!) and we’ll give you simple tips to improve your technique before you get stuck into bad running habits.

We’ll also be looking at essential stretches and the all important foam roller. This latter should be an essential piece of kit in any runner’s arsenal to promote recovery and prevent injury. Bring your roller with you if you have one.

Meet: Hove Road South (the grass next to King Alfred car park – parking is free)

Time: 7:30 – 8:30 pm

Coach: Melissa. 07894 146016

  4. Hello, you’ll probably want to move this session as Zippos Circus is now setting up on that lawn…..or you could all improve your circus skills at the same time!

  5. Hello I can’t make this tomorrow but would like to come to future sessions to support my training for the 8k.

  6. I’m not training for 8k but have entered the half marathon, very much a beginner so need all the help I can get! I’ll be there!

  8. Hi, I’m planning to come along this evening for the first time, also don’t have a roller. Have had a break from running but am just starting training for a 10k in 6 weeks. Suzi

As the circus is in town, (thanks Jo!) we’ll move to the first lawn next to Coutney Gate. This is at the bottom of Fourth Avenue. However, still meet on the promenade next to the King Alfred carpark.
