Strength and speed – training Wednesday 22nd August

20120820-115149.jpg

This Wednesday is a double whammy of strength and pace work to help you become a faster and more resilient runner.

Whether you’re a beginner or seasoned runner, you should never overlook the importance of muscle conditioning as a regular part of your training plan. Get your muscles firing with running specific conditioning and help your body cope with the impact forces that occur with every step (up to 4 times bodyweight!).

As a beginner, speed work can be scary stuff, but this is a great structured session that will make you more comfortable with running at higher intensities. Your fitness levels will increase which will ultimately help you to run harder for longer.

For the intermediates and advanced, you’ll be working at a higher intensity, so regardless of your ability, you’ll be sure to get a great workout that will help you become a faster runner whilst reducing your risk of injury.

PLEASE COMMENT HERE IF YOU ARE COMING TO THE TRAINING SO THAT WE KNOW HOW MANY PEOPLE TO EXPECT AND PLAN ACCORDINGLY. AND PLEASE REMEMBER TO WEAR YOUR BAND IF YOU HAVE PAID FOR A PACKAGE.

Meet: Hove lawns, (next to Courtney Gate at the bottom of 4th Avenue)
Time: 7.30pm – 8.30pm
Trainers: Melissa (07894 146016)
Kate (07702 983744)

Only problem is I only have normal trainers, like from Primark, am going to buy some proper running ones later in the week but are my rubbish ones OK for one session? If so I want to come on Wednesday 🙂 thanks
