Please note, if you are doing our 0-5k BEGINNERS COURSE, please meet your coach Karen on the lawns adjacent to Hove Street by the life guard hut. Parking in King Alfred Centre.
For our regular runners and Rise 8k crew, this week we undertake our wonder workout…the hill session.
Don’t be scared or put off by the dreaded ‘h’ word. Tackling hills prepares you both mentally for running any kind of race, and it can also help to improve your technique both in terms of lifting the knees and swinging the arms.
Hence, why it’s called the wonder runners workout as it helps you to improve your running quickly.
Some of our run club ran a hilly half marathon Bacchus race last weekend and said our hill training got them to a PB, most of them beating their half marathon times even though, these times were for their flat half marathon!
Don’t worry though, we’ll be going through technique pointers using metronomes and more.
While we usually meet in Hove, because we need the hills this week we will be meeting at the LAST step of stairs closest to Dukes Mound.
Location: Last stairs close to Duke’s Mound (for those with children, almost oppositePeter Pan playground by Yellowave). Parking is by meter on Madeira Drive or Black Rock car park. Please leave time to park and walk to our meeting place as parking can be tricky directly by our location.
Drop in fee: £5 to be paid online – annual members please use your code. Click here
