Running School starts Monday 19th March

Feel like this about running

Learn how to run efficiently and safeguard against the development of injuries with our one week, (1hr Mon-Fri) school.

Whether you are a total beginner or someone looking to improve these schools have been carefully designed to help analyse your running style and help you to build up and strengthen your foundations.

Our last batch of running school members started off as beginners (not able to run 5k). They graduated, joined our running club and three to four months later crossed the line of the Brighton Half Marathon.

Whatever your level, expect to graduate having learned a whole range of new skills and transformed the way you think about running. And feel ready to take on any challenge!

This school will be taught by the founder of Fitbitch, Rachael Woolston, who is also a yoga for runners teacher with a strong background in biomechanics.

Spaces available in both 6am and 7am schools at Hove for both men and women.. Price, £65. Book with a friend before Tuesday 13th March 6pm and one of you will be half price.

Beginners/Returners to Running Training session, Weds 15th Feb

Get ready to transform your running experience

Have you been inspired to take up running by a friend recently? Or, have you always wished you could run and lacked confidence? Or perhaps you already do run and would love to train with a group but have been put off joining other running groups who are currently doing long distances?

If this sounds like youthen now is the time to join our running group.

Whether you are merely looking for a social group to run with, or you want to start training for a 10k, half marathon or even beyond this, get in on the ground level with our beginners and returners (i.e. those who run but have not done any distance for a while, or are returning from injury) training session.

This session takes some of the elements of our Running School weeks, to analyse your foundations, posture and biomechanics. This helps us, and you understand how you can build yourself into a strong, injury free runner.

The first part of the session will be indoors to allow us to analyse your movement patterns and posture, before heading outside for a short run. If this sounds bewildering to you, and you are thinking ‘I just want to run,’ don’t worry it will all make sense.

Whatever your level, this is a session not to be missed.

Location: Flat 4, 4 St Aubyns, Hove, BN3 2TB (parking in KIng Alfreds car park, a five minutes walk away)

Time: 6.45pm

What to wear: Usual running stuff but layers so you can take them off inside.

Cost: £5 drop in – places are STRICTLY limited so you need to book in advance by leaving a comment here

Coach: Rachael, 07855 742195

Running Newbies and Returners

Become part of our friendly running group

While many of our running group are reaching the end of their current training cycle next weekend to run the Brighton Half Marathon (we will be posting final details about where to meet, etc later in the week), we are starting a new wave of training for those returning to running or starting afresh.

It means we will now be putting on weekend runs for those who are only ready for shorter runs, although this coming week this weekend training run will be on Saturday morning (as we’ll be at the Brighton Half Marathon on Sunday cheering on our runners).

So, if you are a beginner, or returning to running, now is the time to join us and start our next wave of training. This Wednesday night training will also be a good starting point.

If you are interested in joining us, and becoming part of a friendly group of female runners who constantly achieve their goals (we are currently training a group of TOTAL beginners to marathon level, some of whom had only ever run 5k before), then get in touch.

And pencil Wednesday and Saturday into your diary! More details to come.

Yoga for Runner’s Morning Workshop, Thursday 11th August

Stretch for speed, for posture and for an injury free running experience

When it comes to running, the one aspect of running fitness that over 90% of us neglect, it’s stretching.

Why? Because people assume that improving cardio fitness and strength is all that is important. But flexibility is a vital part of running. If you are not flexible, your range of movement is seriously affected and being stiff also encourages injuries which can take you out of running for months on end.

So, join the founder of FitBitch Running Club, Rachael, a qualified yoga teacher in this special master class in yoga for runners.

This session is part of the new week long running camp but we are opening up this session only to non campees due to difficulty of getting studio space on Wednesday evenings when workshops are usually held.

It costs £15 and you must book in advance and pay via Prices & Bookings page at http://www.fitbitchbootcamp.com. You do not have to be a yogi, or in deed to have ever done yoga, to benefit from this session.

We will focus on postures to improve flexibility in those areas which typically become tight in runners, piriformis, ITB, glutes, chest, hamstrings and thighs.

You will leave equipped with a capsule stretch routine that, if practised regularly, will help improve your running and help you prevent common injuries such as runner’s knee, plantar fasciatis, Achilles tendonitis and more.

All equipment, mats, blocks, bands will be provided.

Location: Natural Bodies, Bond Street

When: 6am or 7am. Places are strictly limited so book soon.

Learn to run with FB camps

From beginners to Lisbon Half Marathon runners

Running is a fantastic and affordable way of getting fit and staying in shape. But there is more to it than simply putting on a pair of trainers.
In this one week camp, you will learn new running techniques, and exercises that will make you stronger as a runner and prevent injury. Most importantly, you will experience the endorphin high that you may have heard other runners talk about but which may have always eluded you.
This camp is suitable for total beginners, those who can run up to 5k as well as those who are returning from injury after a long break.
It will be taught by founder of Rachael, who has run everything from 100ms to adventure races. She is also a qualified yoga teacher and so understands the importance of stretching to prevent injury and improve mobility.
Don’t worry about this camp involving lots of running and being left behind – most of the days we will be staying in one place as our focus is on improving your technique and boosting your confidence.
Our success with developing runners speaks for itself – from total beginners to half marathon runners in three months.
You may not want to run races but just run for enjoyment. This camp will get you there.
