From marathons to trial runs, five km to 10kms improver races, we’ve helped total beginners to run and seen huge improvements in speed, endurance and strength from our regular runners.

Here’s to a successful 2014 and introducing even more women to the amazing, confidence, endorphin and butt boosting joy of running.

As you know the Brooks is a flat seafront run and a good one to work on pace. The weather is currently showing that it will be dry. So wear suitable clothing for a possibly faster run than our off-road Sunday runs. Don’t forget the bin liner trick if the weather does change. Also wearing an old sweater that you don’t mind discarding (they usually go to charity)  and taking off minutes before the start, is a good way to keep warm in the starting pen. There’s no need for carb overload with a 10k but an earlier breakfast might be a good idea for a more comfortable run.

As with all our local running events, supporters are appreciated along the route. So please comment if you’re running or planning to be out to give us a wave.

NO Sunday run this weekend

Sorry, but coaches Rachael & Kate will be running up hills somewhere! See you next Weds

Amsterdam completed, next up is the Brighton Brooks 10k. If you’re not already one of our regular runners then come and train with us for some amazing experiences and friendships. This Wednesday the session will be focusing on strength and conditioning work. Not just on our lower bodies but also the core and upper body. Core muscles are fundamental in stabilising us and the arms play their role too. Try running with your arms by your side! Stronger arms will help us gain power when running but don’t be alarmed, you won’t walk away looking like Popeye!

The session will be mainly compound exercises where you’ll be using a variety of muscle groups with a small amount of running thrown in. If you do have a mat them please bring it along.

A flat seafront run. Sunday 6th October.

Seaside running.

Seaside running.

What? FitBitch are doing a run on flat ground! Okay, there is a slight hill in the route but compared to our usual off-road runs, you won’t even notice. The two distances are 13.5 and 4 miles. The flat routes will give you the opportunity to work on pace and build confidence for the Amsterdam half marathon or the Brooks 10k. Our long run finishes directly up from the Saltdean undercliffs where the Rise 8k will be taking place. You can absorb the atmosphere but unfortunately we’ll be missing out on their amazing goodie bags!

While we will try to accommodate newcomers and regulars alike, these longer distance runs of 10 and more miles are NOT suitable if you can not demonstrate gradual mileage build up recently. If you have been injured and then upped your mileage please email us first before booking.

ALL BOOKINGS TO BE MADE HERE – under Sunday running. Price: £10. Payable online only.

MEET: Saltdean Lido car park.

TIME: 8:15 to start at 8:30

Coach and R/a’s: Kate 07702983744, Karen and Tor.
