Stunning scenic run, Sunday 17th March, 8.30am

Happy Sunday running

Jump, smile and run.

Don’t miss our next Sunday, particularly if you are training for the BlueBell 10k or 10mile as building your mileage gradually, and your hill training is important.

Choose from 6miles (those training for 10k) or 8.5miles (training for 10miles) or if you’re new to us, come along and join us for a social run.

It will start from Hove Park, with a flat route before heading up to the Downs and returning to the park. Those on the longer route will finish with a pacey lap to help focus the mind on race strategy – and just because it’s good to finish on a high!

Our marathon group hit 19miles this week and the advantage of going long? You get to enjoy so much scenery and this route has it all. Sea, river and the downs.

It is a hilly route but where there is an up, there is a down to help you stretch out your legs.

The routes have been chosen to avoid any open fields where it will be very soggy after the snow. BUT trail shoes are probably preferable if you have them.

Running etiquette: Please note that we leave at 8.30am from the start so be there with time to get yourself ready and pay your drop in fees.

Please do not run ahead of the coach, or if you do stay within sight. Those running in the middle, if you lose sight of the front runner, you MUST wait for the ambassador bringing up the back so you don’t get lost.

8 & 6mile route please meet at Hove Park Cafe. 8mile route will be led by Melissa, 6mile by Kate. Running ambassador: Elspeth (group dependent on size)

Drop in: £7

Marathon group: Please meet Marrocco’s Cafe, Hove Seafront 8.30am

Our route will follow along the seafront to Shoreham, along the river and then up over the downs finishing at the cafe for an optional breakfast.

Coach: Rachael, Drop in: £10

Off road beauty, Sunday 24th Feb

Glorious skies and witty chat on the climbs!

Whether you are still basking in the glow of finishing the Brighton Half Marathon, or simply inspired by watching your friends/partners/total strangers and want to start running yourself, come and join us this Sunday.

For those training for the Bluebell race, or those joining for a social run, there is an option of a four mile or 7mile.

The four mile is suitable for those new to our running club who can currently run 5k.  It would also be good for those who ran last week’s half marathon and would prefer something more gentle.

Please DON’T jump to 7miles (Bluebell 10miles) group if you’re training for 10k.

And for our specialist marathon group,  we start to pick up our distance to 14miles on an undulating route (with a lovely downhill section) that will build your physical and mental endurance.

We finish at Hove Park cafe for coffee.

Time: 8.30am

Location: Hove Park Cafe

Price: £7 except for Marathon group: £10, for distances over 13miles

Marathon: Melissa, with Karen Russell (N.B if you would like to join our marathon training team on a drop in basis please call Rachael 07855 742195. We are a small group so it’s perfect for those runners who may be feeling isolated or overwhelmed with their current training schedule).

BlueBell & Beginners: Melanie Anning

7mile group: Kate or Rachael, with Elspeth

General etiquette: Please stay with your group when you run. If this means you don’t run with someone you know, start chatting with someone new! This helps us keep you safe, and on the right track.

Stuck in the middle of a group and not noticed where the front leaders have gone? Don’t guess. Wait for our ambassador at the back of the group.

Beginners-Intermediate Running Course starts Jan 30th

Are you one of these runners?

‘I don’t like running but feel like I should to keep fit’

‘I wish I could run but I’m not good at it.’

‘I like running but get bored after ten minutes.’

‘I can never get past 5k.’

‘I used to be able to run but I’ve lost my mojo.’

Then you are not unlike hundreds of women who have joined our running club in the last three years but who now love running.

We’ve helped coach hundreds of women to distances they never imagined they would be capable of, much less enjoy. And we are talking 0-5k in four weeks, and to half marathon and marathon level in a year.

But the great thing about running is not the distances or the PBs, it’s that huge endorphin buzz you get, along with the feeling of confidence when you realise you really can achieve anything that you set your mind on.

And then there’s the side effect on your body shape too, no bad thing!

If you want to feel the Fitbitch effect for yourself, join us in training for either 10k or 10miles.

The training group will be geared towards the BlueBell Trail Race  April. You don’t HAVE to run this but it’s great to have a goal and will keep you motivated, especially as you’ll be running it with a group of women who you will have trained with for 12 weeks.

Both courses will start at a distance of four miles (perfect if you have just finished our Beginners 0-5k course). The price of the package will include a training plan, Wednesday (7.30pm) and/or Sunday (8.30am) training, as well as a Fitbitch race t-shirt. (you can choose both sessions or use a half package across either session).

Most Weds sessions take place in Hove, Sunday sessions start from different locations.

For prices and bookings, visit our brand website. If you’re a complete beginner then don’t miss our next 0-5k course, details via the same link.
