Sunday running. Beginners or a hilly 10 mile option. 15th September.

Running is never a lonely road with Fitbitch

Running is never a lonely road with Fitbitch

We are offering two distances this week to cater for our Amsterdam half runners and for Brooks 10k and Rise 8k runners. The shorter option is two miles on a flat route which is an out and back run, good for beginners and those starting their Brooks 10k training. This will be on the Undercliffs, starting at the Marina so it’s also a good run to do as part of the Rise 8k training. Covering some of the route of your race is a great way to feel inspired and gain momentum for race day itself. There’s no pressure for pace. Our fantastic Running Ambassador Tor will help you with running tips and techniques and give plenty of encouragement.

The 10 mile route has a combination of terrain and incline and like all of our runs, takes in beautiful scenery. There’s sea and countryside all in one run. We have a lead and a back up runner on this distance so all paces are welcome as long as you are up to the distance and have recently ran at least 9 miles .

ALL BOOKINGS TO BE MADE HERE – under Sunday running. Price: £10. Payable online only.

MEET: Brighton marina. Asda car park. 10 mile runners park in the multi – storey to prevent getting a ticket.

TIME: 8.15 am to start at 8.30.

Sunday trails and scenic views. August 18th.

Nothing but clouds, air and gossip!

Over the hills and far away.

Running with views over Lewes and the English Channel, passing dew ponds and fields in full bloom. Join us this Sunday to take in the scenery and experience trail running with a fun and friendly bunch of like-minded women.

6 mile option: Following our Amsterdam or Royal Parks training plan? This one is for you and is also open to other runners who have covered similar distance recently. The route is fairly flat until you reach the infamous Snake. You’ll discover how the name came about as you weave up a gradual incline. Don’t worry, you finish on a slight descent.

11 mile option: Bacchus training or building distance? Starting out with the shorter distance for the first 2.5 miles. The route then continues over Swanborough hill before heading through Rottingdean, Ovingdean, Roedean and back to Woodingdean. Valleys, farms, monuments and gossip, all in one run.

PLEASE NOTE THAT YOU CAN NOW PAY IN ADVANCE ONLINE here

We will continue to take drop in payments on the day for the remainder of August but we are phasing this out so come September, all payments should be done online for Weds and Sunday sessions.

The Good Friday Run, March 29th, 8.30am

Celebration time come on, it's a celebration!

Celebration time come on, it’s a celebration!

Please scan to the post below for Wednesday’s run training

Hurrah! It’s a long weekend and the clocks go back on Sunday, a sign of Spring, even if the weather does continue to let us down!

But to avoid losing the hour of extra sleep and to celebrate an extra day off, this week’s ‘long’ run will take place on Good Friday.

It is a chance for our marathon group, who have been training on long, long runs alone to join up with rest of the Fitbitch run crew as they begin their taper.

Our Bluebell 10mile group will be running 9miles, and the marathon group 8 miles and will join forces for most of this beautiful run out past Rottingdean.

Meanwhile, our 10k training group will be stepping up to 6.5miles, again starting in the same place.

For all those who are interested, we will celebrate with a tea and hot cross bun at one of Rottingdean’s delcious tea houses after the run.

PLEASE COMMENT HERE IF YOU ARE COMING. IF YOU ARE NEW, PLEASE EMAIL info@fitbitchbootcamp.com so we can send you relevant forms.

Running Etiquette – please stay within your group and do not run ahead of your lead runner. If you are faster, we can devise ways to work you harder – but stay with your coach.

If you decide to turn back, please inform your group running leader before you do so.

And please arrive with plenty of time to park, register and pay as we leave for the run at 8.30am.  Ensure you are sufficiently dressed – trail shoes would be advisable, as well as gloves and something to keep your head warm.

6 mile group: Mel L & Elspeth

Sunday run. Training on trails. Sunday 19th August.

Finishing at the park cafe with big smiles. Coffee anyone?

Sundays run will meet in Hove Park. We offer a choice of distances to cater for our various training plans. Each distance will cover some off-road with a slight hill. Perfect for some conditioning work to recruit the muscles and ease the joints.

Depending on demand for options on distances we will have:

3 mile – a slight incline as you leave the park, turning at the top of a trail before heading back down into the park. If you wish to run shorter than 3 miles, you can walk through the park as a cool down. There will be a coach by the cafe ready to go over post run stretching.

5 mile – as above but continuing along towards Devils Dyke before heading back. Again we will have a running coach to assist with stretches.

11 – 12 mile – starting out with the shorter distances then heading further towards the Dyke. This route will be a loop and ending up in the park. For 12 miles you will finish with a lap of the park.

It is very important to comment so we know in advance how many coaches we need per distance. What we ask from you is that you arrive promptly to listen to a pre run brief, give contact details and make us aware of your distance and ability so we can try to pair you up with other runners and distribute our coaches and ambassadors to suit everyone. We now operate a policy where a running coach/ambassador will be at the finish point until our last runners come in. Every single runner will receive assistance with the post – run stretches.

Meet: Hove Park cafe.

Time: 8:30am

Coaches: Kate 07702983744, Melissa 07894146016. Ambassador: Mel L and Karen.

Stanmer Park run. Sunday 20th May.

Even in the rain, there’s always smiles.

We may finally be blessed with some sunshine for our woodland run on Sunday. Stanmer Park is the perfect location to mix up the terrain and vary the distances. Friston Forest runners, this might be your first off road experience and I am certain you’ll be hooked. The scenery is stunning, making you feel completely out of the city. Hills and trail running are an excellent way to condition the muscles and give the joints a rest from the pavement pounding.

For our shorter routes of 3 and 4 miles we have Tor our running ambassador who is always very motivating and has been there as a beginner to hill running not so long ago. I can’t guarantee you’ll be getting a piggy back but Tor will encourage and wait for every runner doing this distance.

The longer route of 7.5 miles is going further towards Ditchling Beacon before back into the park. Both distances do have some flat road and downhill. See, we are considerate to you.

If you can offer or require a lift then please mention it in your comment.

Meet: car park as you turn immediately left from A27 entrance. (straight after the two houses as you enter the park)
