(For details of this Sunday’s run, please scan to the blog post below)NE

Next week, Weds 31st July sees the launch of our event specific training courses – 12 Weeks to the Amsterdam Half Marathon (join our Girls Run the World trip here) PLUS our 10 Weeks to the Royal Parks Half Marathon in London.

Are you a beginner and interested in training with us for a shorter distance? Fitbitch are the official training partner for the women’s only Rise UK 8k run on the seafront on October 6th.

If you are new to Fitbitch and sign up to run the Rise 8k or Relay race, we will provide you with completely free training on Weds only from August 25th – 2nd October. There are strictly limited spaces so pre-register your interest here.

If you have not got a place for the RP Half Marathon, which is fantastic  we have been contacted by Doctors of the World UK, a charity providing access to healthcare for vulnerable people affected by war, natural disasters, disease, poverty or exclusion, who are looking for runners to raise £300 in exchange for a place. Follow the link below to sign up with them.

To book our Amsterdam Half Marathon Package, click here. It includes the option to buy a half package of Sunday runs spread out over the 12 weeks.

To book our Royal Parks 10 week package, click here. It also includes a half package.

Both packages offer considerable savings on drop in fees (although our annual or six month fee is most economical click here)

Coming up THIS WEEK – our Run Summer season!

DON’T miss our next intake for our summer season of running.

This week, we start our 8 week ‘Power Your Pace’ groups training for the Bacchus Half, Bristol Half and Firle Half starts. You will need to be able to run between 7.30 and 9min miles on a sustained flat to be part of this group and must be able to already run 6miles comfortably.

You may drop in on this group BUT you must show some commitment to the course and pay for some Sunday runs. There are various options, including a half package of Sunday runs to be used at any time during the course.  All courses include the Pace workshop on Wednesday.

Book here for the Power your Pace Half Marathon

If this group is not right for you, don’t fear we have a 12 week to Half Marathon (to coincide with the Royal Parks Half Marathon and the Mizuno Amsterdam Half Marathon for those joining us in our international trip) which starts Weds 31st July (we will be having a shorter course for these half marathons but it starts at 8miles).

Again, you MUST book at least part of some of these Sundays (a half package is available) to be able to attend.  Book the Amsterdam or Royal Parks Half Marathon package (starts at 4miles) here

If you do not book a course, we will be offering five mile social runs as a drop in where we have coach availability.

So, don’t miss out on new groups starting. Questions? Email or call Rachael 07855 742195

ANNUAL MEMBERS please tell us which course you wish to do.

Friendship, progress, feel good running

If you missed the start of our last 10k course, or are a new runner looking to progress in a friendly environment, don’t miss our beginners 8 week course to 10k Arundel Castle Run starting on Weds 3rd July (you can join on Sunday 7th).

It is NOT compulsory to enter the race as part of this course, but the Arundel 10k on Sunday 25th August, through the grounds of the castle looks like a beauty! To enter the race click here

Our running course includes a Biomechanics workshop this Wednesday 3rd July worth £10 (Open to those not on the course but must be booked in advance BOOK here – limited numbers). This will analyse the foundations of your running, to help you develop correct technique which will help make you faster and avoid injury. Weather permitting, we will provide video feedback during the session.

Thereafter, the course will help you build you strength and speed on Wednesday evenings, and distance on Sundays.

You don’t need to commit to both sessions but you will need to commit to paying for some of this course in order to be entitled to drop in to the course runs on Sunday.

For instance, pay for the Weds course (£38) which includes the biomechanics workshop and you can pay £10 drop ins on Sundays.

Or pay for the Sunday course (£58) and you can pay drop in Weds and for the workshop separately.

Alternatively, if you know you can commit to the full 8 week course it costs £95.

These Sunday drop-ins are NOT available to anyone not signed on to the course.

Starting next Wednesday 19th June (you can join us on Sunday if you miss the first day) we have a 6 week beginners Trail Running Course, 12 week to the Bacchus Half Marathon course (come and join the Fitbitch crew as we run through the Surrey vineyard in fancy dress – or run it fast!), both with accompanying Biomechanics for Beginners Workshops (which can be booked separately) on Hove Seafront next week.

If you’re one of our regulars and looking for something more challenging, check out our new 8 week Power Your Half Marathon Pace starting July 17th, which includes a workshop on Pace when booking the course. You need to be able to run 6miles when the course starts, and to be able to run a certain pace.

There are lots, and lots more coming up including beginners to Arundel 10k course, Half Marathon training for Amsterdam, Royal Parks, Brooks 10k, Rise 8k and more.

Upcoming races and an important deadline!

Fitbitches take on Spartan

Fitbitches take on Spartan

Over the next week, we will be releasing our race and training groups for the coming year, including our next international in Amsterdam in October.

Also, please note that on Easter Weekend, our training run will switch to Good Friday (more details soon). There will be no run on Easter Sunday.

BUT first up, a deadline on a race of a different kind…Tough Mudder down South

The deadline for £15 discount on entry is TODAY AT MIDNIGHT, 7th March. Even with this discount the race is £80 (including insurance) although you will get £10 rebate because of our group entry.

This is a TEAM event and is for those who are looking for something a little different than running.

All the details about what you need to do, how to do it etc, ARE ON THIS LINK HERE  Any questions, call me 07855 742195.

Don’t worry if you don’t know anyone else – we fielded a team of 20 at a similar event last November and we became a very tight knit team and had loads of fun!

Beginner Runners & Beyond – the new season

Don’t miss our next beginners to 10 package for the Brooks 10k starting Weds 24th September

Signed up for the Brighton marathon – don’t miss the  start of our training particularly if you are a beginner – 29th October

If you are already part of our running community, you will have seen all our pictures from our recent race at the Firle Half Marathon and 10k last weekend.

It was a fantastic day of incredible achievements from all. Over a third of our runners  started as beginners, so huge congratulations to Suzy Curd on her first ever half marathon (and a huuugely hilly one!) and our first time 10k runners (or first for a while!) Amy, Kathryn, Penny and Sara who only joined us just a little over eight weeks ago.

And to Karen Napleton who was the third fastest female and Suzanne Ford who showed amazing grit and determination. So many runners to mention but you were all fab!

If you have been inspired by them, or run in Firle and are now looking for your next challenge – or just a race to help you maintain your newfound running mojo, here are our next upcoming dates for 2012 and beyond (the first date indicates the race date – some tbc as they are not released yet, and the second when training starts).

If you would like to join us, you can come to any session for £5 drop in or book a package of runs (currently only the Brooks 10k package is available for booking online and our annual membership – new prices will be released for remaining packages).

Please note, we will also be releasing two ‘performance’ events next season including an adventure race and a further trail race for those looking for something different.
